The release date for the original Pokémon Snap on the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack service has now been announced, with fans soon able to delve into the 1999 N64 classic. The franchise received a new addition when New Pokémon Snap launched last year to great success, with fans enjoying the updated graphics and gameplay compared to the original.
The catalog of classic games offered by Nintendo Switch Online is still continuing to grow. In addition to a wide variety of N64 games, there are many rumors suggesting that Game Boy titles may also be coming to the platform in the future. Amongst the more recent additions to be announced was Pokémon Snap, the photography-based Pokémon spin-off which became an instant classic when it first launched. Similar to its successor, Pokémon Snap sees its protagonist Todd travel through various locations on rails, taking photographs of Pokémon in their natural habitats along the way before presenting their results to Professor Oak. As a testament to the formula's enduring popularity, New Pokémon Snap quickly sold four times the units of its predecessor in the UK alone upon its release.

Now a release date for N64's Pokémon Snap has been officially announced by Nintendo. Pokémon Snap will be released for Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack service on June 24. Accompanying the announcement was a short trailer that showcased some nostalgic screenshots of the game before providing fans with a look at the gameplay.
