The Greatsword is one of the most classic weapons in the Monster Hunter series, and even if it's a slow tool in nature, over the years many improvements in mobility helped it to retain its efficiency at all times. Monster Hunter Rise further improves upon that with many different Skills and Abilities that will change depending on your preferences. But regardless of what's your approach in battle, one thing is for sure: The Greatsword is at its best moment.
Power Sheathe (ZL+A/B): Your hunter makes an evasive movement while sheathing the weapon, followed by a boost to your Attack.
Hunting Edge (ZL+X/Y): A forward attack using your greatsword. If it’s a successful hit, it can be followed up with a Charged Attack, or a Charged Plunging Thrust in mid-air.
Adamant Charged Slash (ZL+X/Y): Your hunter uses one of the wirebugs to jump forward while being invulnerable, followed by a Strong Charged Slash.
