However, she was prevented from doing so because someone associated with the production claimed they "weren't going urban" for the movie. Kravitz's Dark Knight Rises story sparked outrage among fans and those within the industry, and many took her casting as The Batman's Catwoman to be the perfect reversal of fortune.
