HoYoverse, the studio behind the wildly successful gacha game, Genshin Impact, have announced a release date for its next title, Zenless Zone Zero.
Zenless Zone Zero will launch worldwide on July 4 on PC, PlayStation 5, as well as mobile on iOS and Android.
The game is set in a post-apocalyptic world devastated by “supernatural disasters” called Hollows. What’s left of humanity resides in the city of New Eridu and its people have risen up to re-establish contemporary civilization. Players will take on the role of a “Proxy” tasked with guiding adventurers in the Hollows in an effort to reveal the mysteries of New Eridu.
Zenless Zone Zero is a free to play action role playing game that will feature cross-play and progression at launch. Its final closed beta wrapped up this week. With over 35 million players pre-registered already before launch, HoYoverse may be on the path to having lightning strike twice. The studio has announced that it will distribute a number of rewards to players if the game reaches a 40 million pre-registration milestone ahead of its July 4 launch.
HoYoverse have also released a new trailer for the “wolfishingly charming” new character Lycaon, which we’ve included here.
