Few heroes can hide in plain sight like DC's Zatanna and in a new cosplay, the spellcasting heroine gets a stunning costume recreation that shows the playful side of the fan-favorite character. Cosplayer @the.rebecca.rose brought one of the magical Justice League Dark's most iconic looks to life in a cosplay that shows off Zatanna as she's either ready to perform a magic show or use her magic to help save the DC Universe.
Zatanna is one of the premier magic users in the DC Comics Universe. The daughter of magician Giovanni Zatara, one of DC's oldest characters, Zatanna Zatara first appeared in Hawkman #4 in 1964 by Julius Schwartz, Gardner Fox, and Murphy Anderson. Zatanna is a magician and illusionist who can cast real-life spells by speaking them backward. So, for example, if she wants to cast a force field, she would simply call out «ecrof dlief.» Zatanna has been a member of the Justice League, Justice League Dark, and several other DC superteams. The magic-user has also been romantically linked to Batman and John Constantine in the comics.

Part of what makes Zatanna's secret identity great is that she doesn't need one to stay in disguise. As the stage magician Zatanna, she can explain her powers and spells by simply saying it's all part of the show or an illusion. @the.rebecca.rose shared her take on Zatanna's iconic costume on her Instagram page in a stellar cosplay that shows the hero during a magical performance. The cosplay features the heroine's black suit jacket, white top, gloves, and bow tie, along with her fishnet leggings and black knee-high boots. In addition, Zatanna holds a wand and strikes a pose with a smirk.
