Fans would be disappointed to know that they will have to wait for a while for Young Sheldon season 5, episode 18. The CBS sitcom had just come back after a two-week hiatus due to NCAA's March Madness. Now, The Big Bang Theory spin-off is taking another break.
Debuting in 2017, Young Sheldon has mostly operated independently from The Big Bang Theory until the latter wrapped up its 12-season run in 2019. The offshoot tackles Sheldon's years as a young boy growing up in Texas with his family. Despite starting as a supplementary show for an already popular sitcom, the spin-off has made a name for itself, garnering its own following. Now, as it nears the end of its fifth year, it has become CBS' highest-rated comedy.

Ever since Young Sheldon season 5 returned from its mandatory winter hiatus, it has taken a couple more mini-breaks. In February, it went off the air to pave way for the Winter Olympics. It took a similar one in March for NCAA's March Madness. After Young Sheldon's 100th outing, however, viewers will have to wait a little while to know what's next for Sheldon and his family.
As previously mentioned, Young Sheldon has been going on short hiatuses. But unlike its last two breaks, it's currently uncertain why CBS isn't releasing a brand new episode. Instead of a special broadcast like the Winter Olympics or NCAA's March Madness, the network is simply airing a rerun of Young Sheldon season 5, episode 4 titled «Pish Posh and a Secret Back Room.”
