Electronic Arts has announced details about Apex Legends Season 13 ahead of its release next month.
Titled ‘Saviors’ and set to launch on May 10, the new season of content introduces Apex Legend’s latest hero, Newcastle.
“When a monstrous beast attacks Storm Point, new Legend Newcastle leaps into the fray to protect and inspire his fellow Legends: because that’s what heroes are for,” reads the description for the Saviors launch trailer, which is viewable below.
EA said Saviors will also introduce a reworked Ranked system that rewards teamwork and skill.
Last month, over two years’ worth of new Apex Legends content was reportedly leaked from a development build. It seemingly revealed nine new legends, the ‘Divided Moon’ map, plus fresh weapons and heirlooms.
The leaked legends were Conduit, Scryer, Caliber, Jester, Phantom, Vantage, Uplink, Catalyst and Newcastle, the last of which was tipped as the first for release given the relatively complete state of the character model.
Apex Legends Season 12, Defiance, launched in February, introducing Mad Maggie and a limited time Domination-style mode called Control.
Long-awaited PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions of Apex Legends were released in March. The upgraded versions of the game include a number of new features, including native 4K and HDR.
EA recently soft launched Apex Legends Mobile in 10 additional countries.
