Jon Hamm explains why he really wants to join the Star Wars franchise. Hamm became famous playing ad man Don Draper on AMC’s prestige TV classic Mad Men. Next up the actor can be seen bossing around Tom Cruise as Vice Admiral Cyclone in the long-awaited action sequel Top Gun: Maverick.
The aforementioned Mad Men obviously was the show that proved Hamm’s old school leading man qualities. But along the way the star has demonstrated a lot of versatility too, making memorable appearances on sitcoms like The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and 30 Rock alongside starring roles in dramas like Beirut and The Report. Hamm's done his share of quirky genre stuff too, memorably playing the villainous buddy in Edgar Wright’s Baby Driver, and later tackling the role of the Archangel Gabriel in Amazon’s Good Omens. The actor has also become known for his voice work, appearing as the narrator on the Marvel series Legion and voicing Iron Man on the animated M.O.D.O.K..

But even with all his success it seems there is one feather Hamm still wishes to add to his cap. During the press junket for Top Gun: Maverick, the actor revealed the one opportunity he’s most regretted missing out on so far. Via ComicBook.com, he explained why he wants to join the Star Wars universe:
