Folk horror has undergone a revival in recent years and now the You Won't Be Alone trailer has been released in the hopes of joining the pantheon that includes Midsommar and The Witch. Marking Australian director Goran Stolevski's feature directorial debut, the film is set in a Macedonian mountain village and follows the story of Nevena, a young witch who is exiled from her community to the woods.
Focus Features released the You Won't Be Alone's second trailer on YouTube, building on the suspense laid by You Won't Be Alone's first trailer, released two months previously. The video combines beautiful, idyllic shots of pastoral Macedonia with screams, cries, and shots of nails wounding skin as Nevena comes to terms with her power and, in disguise, attempts to reintegrate into the community that cast her out.

Swedish actress Noomi Rapace, best known for her portrayal of Lisbeth Salander in 2009's The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo and its sequels, takes on the role of one of the incarnations of the witch Nevena, who shapeshifts into the bodies of those that she's killed. Other cast members playing Nevena include Sara Klimoska, Carloto Cotta, and Beautiful Creatures' Alice Englert. The film has already had its festival premiere at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival and received positive reviews from critics. Many of the highlights of these reviews are featured in the movie's trailer. You Won't Be Alone is set to release in theaters on April 1.
