You’ll be able to step into and explore the city of Baldur’s Gate whenBaldur’s Gate III is out on August 31st. Larian Studios released a brand new behind the scenes video with team members talking about how they decided not only to bring the city back, but the efforts and modern technologies that will enrich the player experience.
Lawrence Shick, a narrative design expert on the game, says that “We can put lots more of the city on screen than we could in 1998. We can do something that is more immersive, richer, has more texture to it”. With this in mind, you will be able to explore the city, go inside the buildings, walk around and talk to the people, and lots more.
There's an emphasis on making the city feel alive, so it will be a big metropolis with people all over, alleyways to look and go down, temples, and much more, You'll be able to listen to what people say, the crowd noises, and have people react to things that go on. This will be for good or bad.
One of the decisions Larian made is that when you get to the city, the things you do and say, and some of your decisions in the RPG's storyline, and other choices will be reflected in the interactions you have there. You might run into people who remember some deeds you did or choices you made. You might also feel bent on destruction and want to set the city on fire. People will react to that too.
Overall, what the team has created is a version of the city of Baldur's Gate that is bigger than any iteration of this city they've ever done. you'll be able to travel through the outer city, the upper city, and the dark alleys of the lower city. crowds will be everywhere, and you'll be able to make discoveries.
The initially intended to create a series of smaller regions
