VHS tape art created for Showtime horror series Yellowjackets perfectly fits with the show's '90s setting. The surprise hit Yellowjacketsstars Melanie Lynskey as the older version of Shauna, who survived a plane crash in the wilderness with her soccer team in the '90s. Interchanging between the present and the past through flashbacks, the show reveals their fight for survival in contrast to their present-day lives, where the ensemble — which features the likes of Christina Ricci, Tawny Cypress, and Juliette Lewis - see their attempts to have normal lives begin to fall apart.
The '90s setting of the show is reinforced by Yellowjackets' music needle drops, including «Today» by The Smashing Pumpkins, Montell Jordan's «This Is How We Do It,» and «Come Out And Play» by The Offspring. Ricci's casting was also a fitting addition to the series, since, despite playing the present-day Misty, she began her career as a child actor in the '90s and became well-known following her roles in the family films The Addams Family and Casper. Similarly, Lynskey's career began in the same decade, and she portrayed Hilary in 1999 cult classic But I'm A Cheerleader. These casting decisions offer some '90s nostalgia while the show simultaneously shows the horrors of the past.

Now, a pair of Instagram posts by Kadi, who sells VHS copies of popular movies and TV shows on their website, show off VHS tape cover art for Yellowjackets. The first features Ella Purnell as teen Jackie, and the second has an ominous-looking teen Lottie. The artwork's aesthetic certainly has echoes of the Point Horror book covers of the era.
