When the Xbox Series X was first unveiled in December 2019, its sharp rectangular shape lent itself immediately to funny comparisons with other similarly shaped objects. The most prevailing comparison was that the console looked like a fridge, which Xbox then capitalized on by producing a limited run of Xbox Series X mini-fridges that sold out almost immediately.
Other funny jokes were made about the shape of the Xbox Series X, including its similarity to the black monolith from 2001: A Space Odyssey. However, the console's simple design has also made it the perfect blank slate for creative fans to customize and decorate themselves.

But these official designs are mainly used for the promotion of specific newly released games. Standard Xbox Series X consoles that have been decorated by fans are able to be far more specific and can be made to suit the decor of that fan's home. This is exactly what a Reddit user named Bioshocky has done with their Xbox Series X, which they have designed to look like a vintage Coca-Cola vending machine.
Some fan-designed Xbox Series X consoles can be eye-catching, with built-in lights and other additions, but Bioshocky has clearly gone for something far more subtle.
