2K Sports recently revealed a ton of info about the upcoming WWE 2K22, confirming its March 11 release date, the different bundles that players will be able to purchase, and Rey Mysterio as the cover star. 2K Sports also confirmed just how much fans will have to pay to play WWE 2K22, and while the game is the industry-standard $60 price on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, fans will have to pay a little extra to play it on PS5 and Xbox Series X, with no free upgrade option available.
Game publishers have handled the transition to PS5 and Xbox Series X differently. Some have stuck with the $60 price, whereas others have experimented with selling PS5 and Xbox Series X games at $70 instead. Some have let players upgrade to the next-gen versions of their games for free, whereas others have charged players a fee to upgrade. 2K Sports has been at the forefront of raising game prices and charging for upgrades, selling NBA 2K21 for $70 and charging players to upgrade from the PS4 and Xbox One to PS5 and Xbox Series X. WWE 2K22 is following in NBA 2K's footsteps, meaning fans will have to pay extra to play on PS5 and Xbox Series X.
