Said to be the firstborn of Akatosh, the dragon god of time, it’s no surprise that Alduin is one of the strongest dragons in the entire universe. Alduin is one of the oldest beings in the Elder Scrolls lore. According to Nordic legends, he came into existence before Nirn (the planet where the continent of Tamriel is located) was created. These same legends believe Alduin destroyed the old world to create the new world. The fearsome dragon is able to devour the souls of the dead to increase his power, making him both a creator and a destroyer.
The Atmorans, who hail from the frozen continent of Atmora to the north of Skyrim, had a major impact on Nord culture.
