After playing enough Elder Scrolls Online many players end up changing their play styles, weapons, armor, and combat focus for their character. Part of this is changing skills, but it's impossible to know which skills you will actually use while leveling up. Thankfully, resetting Skill Points in Elder Scrolls Online is a pretty simple process.
Most Immersive MMORPGsThere are three methods to reset your Skill Points: by making an offering at specific shrines throughout Tamriel, by using an Armory System «exploit» that has yet to be changed, or by buying a Skill Respec scroll from the in-game Crown Store with real-life money.
The first (and most popular) way to reset Skill Points in Elder Scrolls Online is to go to a temple and make an offering at the correct altar. Each of the game's three faction capitals are home to a shine like this — though the God associated with each temple often changes. Shrines like this can also be found in many major DLC cities, like Leyawiin and Vivec.
The Shrines to Stuhn, Stendarr, S'rendarr, and the Father of Mysteries (Sotha Sil) are each dedicated to resetting Skill Points specifically. It's a bit pricey, though, easily costing more than 10,000 gold to reset all Skill Points at max level. Most of the time, you won't need to reset all of your Skill Points, so it ends up being a bit cheaper than this.
The Armory System was added to Elder Scrolls Online with the Deadlands DLC update at the end of 2021. This system gives players multiple slots to load character builds from. These builds are saved from the player's current loadout, but by always keeping one slot untouched, it's possible to reset Skill Points for free whenever you like.
