With every passing day, we are moving closer towards portless devices. The iPhone already started the trend by taking away the 3.5mm jack and rumours keep floating which port might be the next to go away in the days to come. But apparently one laptop is going all out and bringing the no-port design to life and it will charge its battery with a wireless charger. It is an ultra thin laptop with a 7mm chassis called Craob X. The website claims the laptop will weigh just around 860 grams which would make it one of the lightest laptops in the world. And if more claims are to be believed, the laptop comes with a ton of exciting features. But, is it too good to be true? Read on to find out.
On the surface of it, a 13.3-inch 4K display and under 1 kilogram weight sound amazing. But it also creates a few problems. While wireless charging solves the problem to juice up the laptop, what about connecting with external storage, USB or data sharing? The company has apparently created an alternative solution for it. The wireless charger of Craob X apparently has multiple ports including USB type-A and type-C ports, a Thunderbolt port, an SD card slot and a headphone jack. The company has provided no details about how the wireless charger connects to the laptop itself. But even if it uses WiFi 6E, which has a maximum speed of 9.6 GBps, it is still considerably slower than the actual ports. And that is just the tip of the iceberg of the concerns with this laptop.
