With World of Warcraft: The War Within Alpha testing underway, some players point out that unlocking the Earthen Allied Race will require more steps than completing the leveling campaign. According to data from an updated Alpha build, World of Warcraft players who want to play as an Earthen character must undergo three additional side quests, and unlock an associated achievement for completing the max-level campaigns.
Slated to arrive with the War Within expansion, the Earthen will be World of Warcraft's 25th playable race and the third race after the Pandaren and the Dracthyr that can join either the Alliance or the Horde at the start. As the progenitor race of the Dwarves, the stone-faced Earthen bear a deep connection to Azeroth in both the figurative and literal senses. With racial abilities that allow them to channel surges of Azerite energy and an innate talent for gathering materials and exploring various environments, the Earthen will play a key role in The War Within and the subsequent expansions Midnight and The Last Titan, all of which are part of World of Warcraft's upcoming Worldsoul Saga.
Though the Earthen also have funny things that happen to them upon falling in battle, the quests to unlock them are numerous. According to Wowhead, a hidden achievement was placed in the latest World of Warcraft Alpha build which lists the Earthen unlock requirements. In addition to completing the leveling quests for each zone of the expansion, three side quests will also need to be done as part of the requirements. These side quests are called «Hope, An Anomaly,» «Mourning Rise,» and «Broken Tools.» The first two quests are located somewhere on the Isle of Dorn, and the third remains undiscovered at the time of writing.
