The sequel to World of Goo has been announced.
World of Goo 2 is coming in 2024, according to a new trailer shown at The Game Awards.
The first game was released in 2008 to critical acclaim, and currently has a Metacritic score of 90.
The game involves using small balls of goo to put together bridges, while taking physics into account.
The sequel is being made by same people behind the original, 2D Boy and Tomorrow Corporation.
“This is the biggest game we’ve ever made”, a statement on the game’s website reads.

It’s not yet been confirmed which formats the game will be released on, something the studio has handled with its typical sense of humour.
“Let’s enjoy this moment, right now, where anything is possible,” it says. “Can you play it on your 2004 Discman?
“Maybe. Let’s just let the vast expanse of uncertainty fill our hearts with wonder, while we fill our bank accounts with exclusive distributon contracts.”
The team is currently looking for composers to contribute to the game’s soundtrack, and for community members willing to help translate the game into numerous languages.
