Wonder Woman is not a hero who is typically known for using hi-tech gadgetry or devices. Batman has his fair share of technological weapons, and even Superman has been known to don a mech suit every now and then, but rarely Diana. The Princess of Themyscira is best known for beating down the bad guys with her lasso, ancient weaponry, and even her bare hands, but a new redesign featured in DC: Mech #3 has upgraded the Amazon warrior with an all-new costume and some impressive hi-tech gear.
This summer’s DC: Mech limited miniseries features the heroes of the Justice League with an armored upgrade the likes of which fans have never seen. An Elseworlds-style story, written by Kenny Porter and with art by Baldemar Rivas, DC Mech is set after World War II. At the end of the war, Darkseid unleashes an army of parademon mechs on the planet, which leads to the death of the Justice Society of America. In response to the invasion, a new group of heroes —including Batman and the Flash— come together with their own mechs to ward off Darkseid’s forces, forming a whole new kind of Justice League.

Among the new mechanized heroes of Earth is Wonder Woman who pilots a mech built by her mother Queen Hippolyta and the top scientists of Themyscira. According to the variant cover for DC: Mech #3 designed by Dan Mora, Diana’s mech utilizes weaponry created both by science and the gods themselves. Appearing as a 45-ton ancient Greek warrior, the armor stands 82 feet tall and is equipped with a massive sword and shield created by the god Hephaestus which can only be wielded by the Wonder Woman Mech.
