Polish studio Rebel Wolves has revealed the title of its debut game, and confirmed a reveal event for next month.
The Warsaw-based studio, which was co-founded in 2022 by The Witcher 3’s game and art directors, is working on the first entry in what it’s calling the Dawnwalker saga.
The first chapter, The Blood of Dawnwalker, is described as a “dark fantasy narrative sandbox action-RPG” with a strong focus on story and narrative. The game is being developed on Unreal Engine 5 for PC, PlayStation and Xbox, published by Bandai Namco.
On Sunday, Bandai Namco announced a 45-minute reveal event scheduled for January 13 at 4pm ET / 9pm GMT. “Gather round and see how medieval, 14th-century Europe confronts legends through the eyes of Dawnwalker,” it said.
“Hear about Vale Sangora – its turbulent history, natural landscapes, and secret inhabitants. Witness the premiere of a CGI trailer serving as the game’s opening, learn about the game’s pillars and main concepts, including origins, world, lore, story, narrative and art, and have a tiny glimpse into its gameplay.”
CD Projekt Red veteran Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz joined Rebel Wolves as creative director in January. He spent almost 13 years at CD Projekt, during which time he held roles including lead quest designer on The Witcher 3 and its expansions, and quest director on Cyberpunk 2077.
