Rolling out to all stable Windows 11 users under the KB5011563 update patch, it now allows users to change their default browser in just one click. No more necessary to go through each and every protocol to make your new Windows 11 PC open links in Chrome browser, or in the one of your choice! The update is now rolling out to users across them world as you read this.
With the new update applied, Windows 11 will now allow you to simply change to your favourite browser as the default one instead of Edge. All users need to do is go in to Settings and head over to the Default Apps section. Here, you will need to search for your favourite browser, and then click on the “Set default” button to make it your primary web browser.
With this process, it becomes easier to change to your default web browser from Edge after setting up your new Windows 11 PC. You longer need to repeat the specs for changing the default browser links for various handlers such as HTTP, HTTPS, .HTML, and .HTM.
While this should certainly prove useful for users accustomed to Google Chrome or Opera browsers, Microsoft is also making life easy for those who relied on the drag-n-drop feature of the taskbar.
