The Umbrella Academy season 3 introduced Diego and Lila's false son, Stan, played by Javon Walton — but will he return in season 4? Gone nearly as quickly as he was introduced, Stan was revealed to be the son of Lila's friend Trudy shortly before he was taken away by the kugelblitz in Umbrella Academy season 3. Though he wasn't Diego's real son, the two bonded and became close before Stan's disappearance.
Sometime after realizing she is pregnant, Lila decides to test Diego's parenting abilities by borrowing Stan from her friend Trudy. Dropping him in Diego's care, she leaves him to raise their «son,» stating that she's had him for the last 12 years and it's time Diego "do his part." Stan ends up being quite a handful, but Diego sees something of himself in him and bonds with his not-son. Shortly after it's revealed that Stan isn't really Diego's son, Stan gets taken by the kugelblitz.

Javon Walton as Stan in The Umbrella Academyseason 3 gave Diego an opportunity to explore fatherhood and come to terms with the fact of Lila's pregnancy. Though the two aren't actually related, Diego bonds with Stan and grows affection for him, believing him to be his own son. This might be how Stan could have a place in Umbrella Academy season 4.
Diego has a craving for familial connection that shows itself the most when he's saddled with Stan in The Umbrella Academy season 3. Despite Stan's troublemaking, Diego cares about him and goes out of his way to try to instill values in him.
