Updated May 4th, 2022, by Kim Dailey: There have been some critical changes to Wild Rift's ranking system since we first broached the topic. Namely, the long-awaited implementation of character bans and the removal of the Promotional Series that was discouraging many players' competitive edge. So today, we're back to rehash the inter-workings of the Wild Rift ranking system and how it functions in 2022.
There are a total of ten Wild Rift ranks, which you can start climbing by participating in ranked matches. It used to be that any player could partake in ranked matches after reaching level 10. However, with Season 3, the developers made it so players are additionally required to own 16 Legends before embarking through the ranked series. This is perhaps to account for the possible character bans players may now come up against, which we'll discuss later.
