Wild Hearts recently released its first trailer, revealing a game that looks a lot like Monster Hunter with an even greater Japanese aesthetic. One of the things differentiating it from Monster Hunter is the Karakuri, a small device that can re-assemble itself into all manner of helpful monster-hunting items, from giant harpoons to massive bombs.
EA and Koei Tecmo will likely have to do more to differentiate Wild Hearts from Capcom's Monster Hunter franchise, and we'll find out just how they'll do that when the game debuts a seven-minute gameplay trailer on Wednesday.

"Brace for the Kingtusk's charge," wrote Wild Hearts' official Twitter announcement. "Experience 7 mighty minutes of Wold Hearts gameplay on Oct 5 at 7:00 AM PT."
Kingtusk is apparently the name of the giant boar creature shown in the Wild Hearts reveal trailer. Covered in moss and plant life, Kingtusk can apparently use his enormous bulk or those whip-like vines to attack players. However, it seems like Kingtusk can be caught flat-footed so long as players sneak up on him.
It seems most of the creatures in Wild Hearts will have a nature theme, with the initial trailer also revealing big squirrels with berries sprouting from their backs, giant flaming bird-like creatures, and an enormous wolf with command over snow and ice.
Players combat these foes with a variety of weapons, including swords, bows, and an umbrella. Players also have access to various siege devices courtesy of the Karakuri, which can transform into different items depending on what the situation calls for.
