EA and Koei Tecmo have published 7 minutes of gameplay from their upcoming monster hunting game Wild Hearts.
The sequence shows some of the environments players can expect to encounter as they hunt the game’s beasts, known as Kemono.
It also shows off some of the game’s ‘Karakuri’, special mechanisms players can craft to help them battle the various creatures.
Electronic Arts and Koei Tecmo officially unveiled Wild Hearts last week, calling it “a new kind of hunting game featuring unique crafting mechanics”.
The game’s debut trailer was also shown last week, along with first details and a confirmed release date of February 17, 2023 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Origin, Steam and Epic Game Store.
Wild Hearts is set in a fantasy feudal Japan, where players battle against giant nature-infused beasts called Kemono with the help of Karakuri, sophisticated mechanisms crafted from a lost, ancient technology.
In the game, players journey through the land of Azuma either as a lone wolf or pack-hunt with up to two friends in co-op, with crossplay supported across all platforms.
Players can expand their battle plans and go on special missions while pack hunting, join other hunters in the world or take on Kemono on their own.
Published through the EA Originals label, Wild Hearts is being developed by Omega Force, a division of Koei Tecmo best known for the Dynasty Warriors games and its various spin-offs.
