Why is Moon Knight’s CG so much worse than the other MCU shows on Disney+? While nothing in Moon Knight is outright terrible to look at, many of the visual effects in the show come across as being a step down from its contemporaries, which is especially bad when they also had problems in that field. The exact reason for this is unknown, but the specific way in which the show is structured could be part of it.
One criticism that’s been levied at Moon Knight since its premiere has been that the CG hasn’t been very good most of the time. The jackals Arthur Harrow controls have been the most often cited example, with them often not blending well into the environments, but the Moon Knight and Mr. Knight costumes have also been noted to be too obviously CG to the point of distraction. Some of Moon Knight’s predecessors — such as WandaVision and Hawkeye - weren’t perfect with their effects either, but it feels much more apparent in Moon Knight than it did with these other shows.

The reason why Moon Knight’s effects come across as much worse than its contemporaries is potentially down to the nature of the show. Since Moon Knight revolves more heavily around mystical characters and abilities than previous shows, that necessitates the use of more CG. However, the show likely doesn’t have the budget, timescale, or the manpower to make the CG blend seamlessly into the show, which is why there are so many instances of the CG being less than stellar.
