Set to release in 2023, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will be the last one to feature the original team, but it shouldn't mean the end of every character's MCU presence. Throughout their run thus far, the Guardians of the Galaxy have been one of the most ragtag groups in Marvel's cinematic universe, comprised of quirky yet complex heroes that each bring their own unique brand of humor. Thus, even if Guardians 3 is the last time the whole team joins forces, there's still plenty of mileage left in the individual characters.

James Gunn has kept most of the film's details under wraps, but Guardians of the Galaxy 3's story is confirmed to be emotional and, according to Gunn, "big and dark."
