The Book of Boba Fettintroduces a mysterious X-Wing pilot, and the new character may have a secret Luke Skywalker connection. Star Wars brings back Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) in The Book of Boba Fett episode 5. During the episode, the Mandalorian reunites with his own kind but discovers he has to atone for taking off his helmet. He also gets his beskar spear turned into Mandalorian armor for Grogu/Baby Yoda and acquires a new ship in Mos Eisley. The series also teases Din Djarin's return in future episodes after Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen) recruits him to fight for Boba Fett (Temuera Morrison) in his upcoming war with the Pykes.
Din Djarin previously had a run-in with X-Wing pilots in The Mandalorian. In season 2, episode 2, Din Djarin agrees to transport a Frog Lady (Misty Rosas) through the galaxy, and two X-Wing pilots from the New Republic come across his ship. In trying to avoid the pilots, the Mandalorian crash lands on an ice planet and eventually gets cornered by ice spiders. However, the pilots, Trapper Wolf (Mandalorian producer/director Dave Filoni) and Captain Carson Teva (Paul Sun-Hyung Lee), save Din Djarin and eventually let him go.

In Book of Boba Fett episode 5, Din Djarin meets X-Wing pilots again, but this time they have a Luke Skywalker connection.
