Who is the mysterious Harbard on Vikings? The TV series has seen all types of characters – some with good hearts, and others driven by hate — but the most mysterious is Harbard, whose real identity is never clearly revealed. Created by Michael Hirst, Vikings premiered on History Channel in 2013, and even though it was initially intended to be a miniseries, the show's popularity resulted in more seasons being ordered. Vikings season 6 brought an end to the History Channel's hit tv show and thespinoff Vikings: Valhalla is now available on Netflix.
Vikings followed the journeys of legendary Norse figures including the Vikings show protagonist Ragnar Lothbrok (Travis Fimmel) with his Viking brothers. However, as the series progressed, Vikings shifted its focus to Ragnar’s sons and their own adventures and battles, making them the protagonists. The series has seen several major characters die, but there’s one that didn’t die, and instead disappeared as mysteriously as he arrived: Harbard.

Right off the bat, Harbard (Kevin Durand) on Vikings stands out among the rest of the male cast because of his lack of outright violence (although he does let Siggy drown). He usually seems to appear in the town of Kattegat while most of the men are away raiding. Harbard does plenty of mysterious things in Vikings, such as disappearing into the mist in Vikings season 3 and leaving cryptic messages with Aslaug before her death in Vikings season 4.
