The hit Netflix showLove Is Blind is back for season 2, and creator Chris Coelen is finally talking about where the engagement rings come from. Love Is Blind season 1 began airing in February of 2020 and gained popularity almost instantly as lockdowns and quarantining began at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Since the only way to leave the pods is to end up engaged, weddings play a big part in the show. But while the couples may plan for their dream weddings, they often end in disaster. Fans were shocked in season 1 when Giannina Gibelli and Damian Powers' wedding derailed so bad, Giannina fled her wedding and walked around the woods in tears.
The couples in Love Is Blind season 2 have been nothing short of dramatic. Among the most talked-about has been fan-favorites Jarrette Jones and Iyanna McNeely. But their engagement only took place because Jarrette's first choice, Mallory Zapata, turned down his potential proposal. During the vacation when they all got to meet each other, Jarrette talked in detail with Mallory about how her actual fiancé, Sal Perez, messed up on her ring. Jarrette and Mallory had spoken in detail about how Mallory loved gold jewelry, but Sal's engagement ring ended up being a bright flashy silver. Contestant Kyle Abrams also made the choice of not picking a ring specifically for his finacé and brought his mother's ring.
