These stunning flying sequences spotlight a wide range of planes—from Super Hornets to the F-6K Mustang—with each having a unique role in the film's overarching premise. When it comes to the top speeds of these aircraft, the fictional hypersonic «Darkstar» is clearly the fastest, as it touches Mach 10 speeds. However, among all the real fighter jet planes in Top Gun: Maverick, the F-14 Tomcat ranks above all with a top speed of 2,485 km/h.
