HBO's The Last of Us TV series is coming back for a sophomore season, and star Bella Ramsey--who plays Ellie--has shed some more light on what to expect.
Speaking to Collider, Ramsey said the «really intense stuff» and stunt work is part of the appeal for Season 2. Ramsey looks forward to potentially even getting hurt.
«Ellie is obviously more physically fit in Season 2. I love stunt stuff, and like waking up with bruises the next day, and finding myself with a black eye, just because it feels like so good to have done it,» Ramsey said.
Ramsey went on to say they're looking forward to scenes with Dina, a character who appears in The Last of Us: Part II and will show up in the show, too. Ramsey got to dig into some romantic scenes in Season 1 for its Left Behind episode with Storm Reid, who played Riley, but the actor is excited to go further in Season 2.
«Obviously, I had the one episode in Season 1 with Ellie and Riley, but to have it as a storyline throughout the whole of the second game in terms of Ellie and Dina is really exciting,» Ramsey said.
In addition to Dina, Season 2 will feature the character Abby. According to showrunner Craig Mazin, the role has been cast but it remains to be seen which actor got the part.
Season 2 will begin filming in early 2024, Ramsey said, and a leak might have revealed the exact date that production will begin:January 7, 2024. The show will likely premiere in 2025.
Another major HBO show set to return is House of the Dragon. Its own second season is set to debut in Summer 2024. That show did not suspend production during the Hollywood strikes and stayed on schedule.
