Although Adam Neumann is most closely associated with the real estate startup WeWork, his partner and co-founder Miguel McKelvey had a massive part in the brand as well — so what happened to him after the events of WeCrashed? The Apple TV+ drama WeCrashed tackles WeWork’s downfall, as its $47 billion net worth in 2018 would completely crash and burn just a year later. The mini-series was released on March 18th, 2022, and consists of eight episodes.
WeCrashed dives into both the rise and fall of WeWork, beginning in 2008 when Neumann and McKelvey crafted their idea of an eco-friendly coworking space. In a decade, that idea skyrocketed into one of the most prominent startups in history. WeCrashed's cast of characters stars Jared Leto as Neumann, Anne Hathaway as his wife Rebekah, and Kyle Marvin as McKelvey. The once-booming company completely failed, and in 2019, filed for an IPO, marking down its value to $10 billion. Just a month later, SoftBank, a Japanese technology company, paid Neumann $1.7 billion to step down, but it wasn’t until June 2020 that McKelvey would leave the company as well. Since exiting the company in 2019, McKelvey has stayed relatively low on the radar, not being very active on social media, and hasn’t done any type of interviews.
