The Walking Dead has just shared some behind-the-scenes images of the costume design for the Reapers, the group serving as antagonists in the show's final season. The Walking Dead will soon end its run with a total of eleven seasons and 177 episodes on AMC, the longest-running series on the network by a wide margin. The franchise is expected to continue with its ongoing spinoff Fear the Walking Dead, as well as upcoming shows like Tales of the Walking Dead and an unnamed spinoff following protagonists Daryl and Carol from the core show.
Based on the comic book series of the same name, The Walking Dead follows a group of survivors after a cataclysmic zombie outbreak has caused the collapse of society. As time goes on, the zombies take a backseat to the many antagonistic factions the main characters come across on The Walking Dead, such as the Commonwealth, and The Reapers. The Reapers, a paramilitary organization, were introduced late in the tenth season of the show.

The new images show off the unique design of The Reapers, with emphasis on the individual masks each character wears. The description accompanying the post talks about the inspiration for the look, saying The Reapers were conceived of as people with military/special forces training who have done what it takes to survive the apocalypse. The post explains the group was originally meant to be wearing scavenged Scream masks but the showrunners ultimately decided to go with a custom look. Check out the post below:
