Good news for customers still waiting for their Steam Deck: Supplies for the PC gaming handheld seem to be improving.
"Starting today we're ramping up Steam Deck shipments, and will be sending more order availability emails every week," Valve tweeted today.
The company has been distributing the Steam Deck by sending emails to customers who pre-ordered the product last year. Once they confirm their purchase, Valve ships it out. Previously, Valve was only sending confirmation emails once a week; it's now increasing that to twice a week.
To that end, a new batch of confirmation emails went out today. So pre-order customers scheduled to receive a Steam Deck this quarter should watch their inboxes. “Customers will have 3 days (72 hours) from receipt of their order email to make their purchase, before their reservation is released to the next person in the queue,” Valve said in January.
In addition to ramping up shipments, Valve is also trying to clarify when those who pre-ordered a Steam Deck will get one by updating the Steam Deck product page to clarify “what the Q2, Q3, and after Q3” estimated arrival dates mean.
For example, Q3 pre-order estimates will now say “July-September” in case the quarterly window wasn’t clear enough. “No reservation windows have been changed or delayed, only some additional info,” the company said in a follow-up tweet.
Find the new order date estimates by logging into the Steam Deck product page with the account you used to place your pre-order.
