Valve hasn't managed to launch the Steam Deck Docking Station yet, but it looks as though there's a good reason for that: it just got a pre-launch upgrade.
The dock is an important peripheral for the Steam Deck, providing a convenient stand for recharging, but also offers additional ports and HDMI output for using it with a separate display with a keyboard and mouse or controller.
As ReviewGeek reports, the specs page for the dock has been quietly updated to reveal some port changes. Previously, the dock was shown as having a single USB 3.1 port and two USB 2.0 ports. However, the new spec states it will include three USB 3.1 ports instead.
The other good news is confirmation from Valve in the updated spec that the network port on the dock supports Gigabit Ethernet, which will be music to the ears of anyone planning to play lots of multiplayer games on the Steam Deck while it's docked.
We still don't know exactly when the dock will be available as Valve has only specified a "late Spring 2022" launch. That should mean we get it before the last day of Spring on June 21, though.
