The first two games in the Elder Scrolls series, Arena and Daggerfall, as well as other titles that were once exclusive to the Bethesda.net Launcher, are coming to Steam. This is following an announcement earlier this year that Bethesda would be shutting down its game launcher in May. All of its content will be available on Steam following this closure.
The Bethesda.net launcher opened in 2016 as the home for games from Bethesda and its studios, including DOOM developerid Software and Dishonored developer Arkane. With the launch came titles, special editions, and the popular Creation Kits for Fallout 4 and Skyrim, that couldn't be found on other PC game launchers such as Steam, GOG Galaxy, or Epic Games. Titles that have been exclusive to Bethesda.net include the first two titles in the Elder Scrolls series, 1994'sThe Elder Scrolls: Arena and 1996's The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall, and the 2003 Wolfenstein title Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory.

In a post on Bethesda.net, the company announced its migration plan for current Bethesda.net users and explained how they would be able to move their entire game library and wallet over to Steam starting April 27th. The company also confirmed that although the Bethesda.net Launcher will be shutting down for good on May 11th, accounts will still be active, and users will still retain access to their games and be able to migrate their Bethesda.net library after the launcher becomes inactive. Bethesda stated that with the move it will "be making several of [its] titles available on Steam that were previously unavailable," including The Elder Scrolls: Arena and Daggerfall.
