The first week of Valor gain is almost over in Cataclysm Classic, and players are banking their Valor Points and buying upgrades left and right. While there's plenty to gain from the Valor system in terms of powerful 359 gear, Valor Points don't have a continuous cap week to week — meaning if you don't cap out this first week, you'll be permanently behind.
Valor Points in Cataclysm Classic
With the weekly Valor Cap currently sitting at 0 Valor Points, players can reach the cap fairly quickly.
Unlike Conquest, however, which increases its total cap by 4,000 each week to allow catch-up, Valor has no such mechanic — you either earn the cap and are caught up, or you're behind for the whole phase. While Raiding can be an efficient source of Valor at 0 Valor Points for each boss defeated, a last-minute raid may or may not go well — so random Heroic Dungeons will also work to fill out your remaining Valor Points.
If you're looking to spend them, Valor Points can be turned in to Jamus'Vaz and Faldren Tillsdale in Orgrimmar and Stormwind, respectively, but don't worry — while you can only gain a certain number of Valor Points each week, there's no limit to how many you can have, meaning you don't have to spend everything right away.
