Sony Interactive Entertainment and Ballistic Moon have confirmed the release date for the upcoming rerelease of Until Dawn.
The game, which is being “rebuilt and enhanced for PS5 and PC” will be released on October 4.
The ports will be handled by British studio Ballistic Moon. The original game was developed by Supermassive Games.
“Rebuilt and enhanced for PS5 consoles and PC, Until Dawn invites you to relive the nightmare, and immerse yourself in a gripping slasher horror where every decision can make the difference between life and death,” the game’s description reads.
The developer has also announced some new accessibility and usability settings not present in the original game. “We’ve created a new optional alternative for the Don’t Move mechanic called Stay Calm. Stay Calm is for third-party peripherals that do not feature a gyroscope or for players who prefer a different challenge.”
Until Dawn is an interactive horror game in which eight friends fight for survival after they return to an isolated mountain lodge where two of their group disappeared a year earlier.
Starring Rami Malek and Hayden Panettiere, the game features a branching narrative in which the player’s choices determine the fate of the characters, all of whom can live or die.
A film adaptation of Until Dawn helmed by Annabelle: Creation, Shazam! and Lights Out director David F Sandbergstarted filming earlier this month. The game’s original cast will not return in their original roles.
