Today Ubisoft announced that it will be ending the development of first-person shooter Hyper Scape and will shut the title down on April 28.
Originally released in 2020, Hyper Scape is a multiplatform battle royale game where up to 100 player can compete to be number.
"We set out to create a vertical, close-quarters, and fast-paced shooter experience and we are extremely grateful to our community for joining us on our journey," the company said.
"We will be taking key learnings from this game into future products."
Ubisoft's statement didn't provide a reason as to why it was ending the title's development and shutting it down.
However key developers from the Hyper Scape team including executive producer Grame Jennings, creative director JC Guyot, art director Mickail Labat, game director Thomas Simon, and technical director Thomas Félix all left Ubisoft early last year to create their own studio, Monster Closet.
Shortly after their departures, communication for the title went dormant.
Prior to the news of the game's cancellation, the last news update on the official site was posted in early April of 2021, while the game's Twitter account hasn't posted since June of last year.
