Ubisoft Shutting Down Assassin's Creed Mentors Guild Program
Right now, Ubisoft and the Assassin’s Creed community are celebrating the franchise's 15th anniversary, highlighting certain games every week or so. This will culminate in September with a reveal of the future of Assassin’s Creed. Many believe this will tie into one or a number of rumored/reported projects like an AC1 Remake, Assassin’s Creed Nexus, Assassin’s Creed Infinity, or Assassin’s Creed Rift. However, among these celebrations came the surprising announcement that the Assassin’s Creed Mentors Guild would be shutting down.
For those unfamiliar, the guild was founded in 2017 to focus on leaders within the Assassin’s Creed community. These selected leaders would gain Ubisoft support as effective representatives of the community, with the company providing them with codes, early access to information and assets, opportunities, and events—in-person (prior to the pandemic) and online.

Several known Assassin’s Creed social media pages and mentors revealed today, with permission by Ubisoft, that the guild is shutting down on July 13. Many did not reveal any particular reason why, so Game Rant reached out to The Ones Who Came Before, an AC Community page on Twitter led by two members of the Mentors Guild, for clarification.
According to The Ones Who Came Before, Ubisoft’s reason for shutting down the Mentors Guild is to focus on the Star Players Program. The Star Players Program is similar to the Mentors Guild except that it is more all-encompassing for Ubisoft, with those deemed a Star Player being «people who have taken great strides within their communities and created a positive impact on the fan base.»
