Summer Games Done Quick concludes with $3.01 Million raised for charity
Summer Games Done Quick, the annual speedrunning event, has raised $3.01 Million for Doctors Without Borders, according to organisers.
The event, which took place in Bloomington, Minnesota was the first in-person GDQ event since Awesome Games Done Quick 2020.

The next Games Done Quick event will be Flame Fatales, an all-women speedrunning showcase taking place online August 21-27.
Highlights from the summer event include a Halo Infinite speedrun by WaifuRuns which clocked in at just under 90 minutes. By clipping through the world and exploiting the game’s infamously unstable physics with the grappling hook, the player managed to fly through the game at a ridiculous pace.
As the event crossed the $3 million dollar mark, it concluded with two Elden Ring runs. You can watch the moment the live crowd watched the counter cross the $3 million target below.

The Games Done Quick events have now raised more than $40 million for charities around the world since their founding in 2010, including Doctors Without Borders, Prevent Cancer Foundation, Malala Fund, Organization for Autism Research, and CARE.
Following two years and several remote events, it’s understood that future Games Done Quick events will return to being primarily in-person going forward.
