Based on the post-apocalyptic demolition-derby-style combat video game franchise Twisted Metal, Peacock is bringing vehicular mayhem to a brand-new TV adaptation. The series stars Anthony Mackie (Captain America: New World Order), Will Arnett (The LEGO Batman Movie), Stephanie Beatriz (Brooklyn Nine-Nine), Thomas Haden Church (Spider-Man: No Way Home), with AEW wrestler Samoa Joe as the face of the franchise, Sweet Tooth, the diabolical clown.
The first teaser doesn't give a lot of actual footage of the series, but sets up the visuals and gives fans who might not remember the games an idea of what's in store, including our first look at Sweet Tooth. Check it out below.
The series has appeared on the PlayStation, PlayStation 2, PlayStation Portable, and PlayStation 3. As of October 2000, the series has sold five million copies, with Several of the games in the series being re-released as part of Sony Greatest Hits.
The show will be helmed by Deadpool and Zombieland writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick and written by Michael Jonathan Smith (Netflix's Cobra Kai).
All 10 episodes of Twisted Metal will hit the streaming service on July 27.
