Variant covers for Marvel Comics are bigger than ever right now, and Thor gets his chance in the spotlight with new cover artwork. Thor #24 does not hit stores until April 2022, but industry great Alex Maleev, best known for his art in Daredevil with Brian Michael Bendis, revealed the variant cover in a Twitter post in early February. Odin might have had immense power and ruled Asgard in the past, but this cover shows that Thor will surely surpass him.
Thor is currently the ruler of Asgard, but his rule has been anything but easy. Not only does he miss his time as a free adventurer, but he has had to deal with numerous threats, such as a crazed Donald Blake, Knull and his army of symbiotes, and the Phoenix Force. He can't control Mjolnir anymore and is currently engaged in battle with the God of Hammers.

Thor #24 is going to be a super-sized issue celebrating over 750 issues of Thor and features the work of Tom Defalco, Jason Aaron, J. Michael Straczynski, Walt Simonson, and many more. Picking up immediately after the events of God of Hammers, Maleev's variant cover suggests that Thor will now truly step into his role as Asgard's king. Thor is seen lifting Mjolnir again, joyous and crackling with energy, surrounded by a flock of ravens over a white background.

The ravens are significant because they give Thor a chance to better his position as king. When Odin ruled as king of Asgard, he had a forgotten power that allowed him to be in multiple places at the same time. Thor doesn't share this same power,
