Dead By Daylight just released the Hanami cosmetic collection and teased the release of additions to the Rockabilly collection. Since the launch of Dead By Daylight's Sadako Rising chapter earlier this month, Behaviour Interactive is staying on theme with Japanese-inspired content. Although the Hanami Collection seems somewhat out of place in a horror game like DBD, fans seem delighted with the new cosmetics.
Dead By Daylight varies from most co-op and horror games, as it combines the two and does so successfully. The asymmetrical nature of the co-op horror — with four players being survivors and repairing generators in order to escape and one player tasked with hunting them down and killing them — adds suspense and fear within the survivor players without necessarily isolating them from each other or forcing them to turn against one another. Survival horror co-ops like DBD and Phasmophobia are increasingly popular for this reason. Another high selling point for Dead By Daylight specifically is varying survivors and killers that players can buy, each with their own perks and cosmetic customizations.

After the successful release of the Ringu expansion, Dead By Daylight introduced the Hanami Collection inspired by the cherry blossom viewing festival held in Japan during March, April, and part of May. However, instead of dainty cherry blossoms, the cosmetics feature Japanese red spider lilies that represent death and the afterlife to properly fit into the survival horror's theme.
