Popular manga and anime series Made in Abyss is being adapted into a video game. The game is officially titled Made in Abyss: Binary Star Falling into Darkness, and is set to launch worldwide on PC, PS4, and Nintendo Switch. Now, after almost a year since first announcing the video game adaptation, developer and publisher Spike Chunsoft has finally given the official release window for Made in Abyss: Binary Star Falling into Darkness.
While the Made in Abyss anime series tells the story of a girl named Riko on her journey to find her long-lost mother in a giant hole inside the earth known as the Abyss, the video game adaptation will feature an original story that is written under the supervision of Made in Abyss' original creator, Akihito Tsukushi. This new narrative in Made in Abyss: Binary Star Falling into Darkness is told through the perspective of a nameless explorer, who begins venturing into the Abyss many days after Riko's departure.
Made in Abyss Video Game Adaptation Announced
On Twitter, Spike Chunsoft announced that Made in Abyss: Binary Star Falling into Darkness will be coming in Fall 2022. The announcement is accompanied by a trailer showing snippets of its 3D action RPG gameplay, as well as the series' iconic take in mixing cute characters with blood and gore. This explains why Made in Abyss: Binary Star Falling into Darkness is rated Mature according to ESRB's standards.
As it has been promised before, the game is fully voiced in English and Japanese by the original voice actors.
