The new Thor: Love and Thunder trailer subtly revives the oldest Avengers argument — who is the strongest Avenger? After months of waiting, Marvel Studios finally kicks off the official marketing campaign for the upcoming Chris Hemsworth and director Taika Waititi film. Thor: Love and Thunder will see the God of Thunder moving on with a brand new adventure following Avengers: Endgame. Despite that, it turns out that there are certain parts of the Infinity Saga that are still holding Thor back.
When Thor was introduced to the MCU, he was considered an anomaly. He was the first cosmic hero to be a major player in the franchise. He then became a member of Nick Fury's (Samuel L. Jackson) Avengers Initiative amidst Loki's (Tom Hiddleston) invasion attempt. Since then, the God of Thunder has been one of the great protectors of Earth thanks to his commitment to doing good, but also his sheer power and strength. Over the years, however, the MCU has exponentially expanded; more characters have been introduced — some of them have effectively changed the power hierarchy in the franchise.

Thor was once deemed to be one of the strongest heroes in the MCU, with the other one being the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo). The Avengers introduced the argument and revisited it in Thor: Ragnarok as they found themselves going up against each other in the Battle of the Champions tournament in Sakaar. Until now, however, there hasn't been a clear winner since the whole fight didn't get to fully play out without interference.
