One of Christian Bale's sources of inspiration for Gorr the God Butcher explains why the villain looks so scary in Thor: Love and Thunder. Thor's villains may not be as famous as the members of Spider-Man's rogue gallery, but they stand out for their immense power and imposing presence. Loki, Malekith, Hela, and Surtur are powerful villains who can destroy entire worlds if they so desire. Yet, it's Gorr the God Butcher who gives Thor the challenge of a lifetime.
In the source material, Gorr the God Butcher is terrifying to look at, mostly due to his deep-sunken eyes, alien face, and animalistic body. His connection to the first-ever symbiote, All-Black, only makes him scarier, as the black goo binds to his body and allows him to summon the powerful Necrosword. Christian Bale's live-action Gorr will look far more humanlike in Thor: Love and Thunder, but Bale's performance will more than make up for the villain's toned-down appearance.

While this adds an eerie quality to Bale's Gorr, Aphex Twin's «Come to Daddy» makes the villain truly terrifying. The video shows a group of children wearing hyperrealistic masks of lead singer Richard D. James' face, along with a broadcast of a distorted head, and a slender, pale, and deformed creature that terrorizes an innocent old lady. The similarities between this creature and Bale's Gorr the God Butcher are undeniable. Besides his physical
