The galactic despot Darkseid isn't just getting a menacing new look, but a weapon that could allow him to finally defeat the Justice League. Covers for DC: Mech #3 show off the ruler of Apokolips' brand new look and the giant mech he'll use in his mission for universal conquest.
For as long as he's been around, Darkseid has attempted to seize control of the DC Universe by any means necessary. His most notable pursuit was seeking out the Anti-Life equation, a mathematical formula that would allow him to subjugate the universe by proving the futility of life. But the Justice League has fought Darkseid throughout his many attempts to seize control of the universe. However, the upcoming miniseries DC: Mech presents a world where Darkseid invaded Earth before the League ever assembled, putting him in a position to fulfil his dark ambitions.

While its known that the heroes of this alternate Earth have opted to create giant mechs to safeguard the world, it appears they aren't the only ones with that idea. In a series of recently revealed covers for DC: Mech #3, Darkseid is shown to have his own giant weapon of war that could easily take on the mechs of the Justice League. In a standard cover by series' artist Baldemar Rivas, a shadowy figure is attacking the the mech versions of the League with Darkseid's trademark Omega Sanction beams. While it appears that the figure may be the warlord himself, a variant shows that Darkseid has a giant robot of his own. In Ricardo Lopez Ortiz's variant cover for DC: Mech #3, a Darkseid with a much more stylized look glares menacingly at the viewer. And towering above him, a mech in the visage of the terrifying New God.
