After months of speculation, NBC finally announced a premiere date for The Voice season 22. The popular singing competition didn't air a season in the spring of 2022 for the first time since it first premiered in 2011. The Voice has normally aired two seasons each year, one in the fall and one in the spring. But this fall will be the first season of The Voice since last winter. The Voice season 21 saw longtime coaches Blake Shelton, John Legend and Kelly Clarkson return with a new coach, music superstar Ariana Grande. She was a popular addition to the coaching panel, but she will not be coming back for season 22.
Speaking of coaches on The Voice, there will be a bit of a shakeup to the big red chairs this coming season. Pop star Camila Cabello will be a coach for the first time in season 22. She served as a mentor for the Battle Rounds during season 21, where she helped the artists on John's team. John is returning to The Voice for his seventh season, while Blake will be back for his 22nd season, having been there since the show's beginning. Blake's wife, Gwen Stefani, will return to The Voice as a coach for her sixth season, having last appeared in season 19, where she won with young singer Carter Rubin.

According to NBC Insider, The Voice season 22 will premiere on Monday, September 19 at 8 p.m. EDT. The show will air new episodes on Tuesdays in the fall as well, also at 8 p.m. EDT.
